roasted mustard potatoes |
day 307 and its a friday so i am making homemade takeaways ... confused? we have takeaways often on a friday so i don't have to cook. last night we took the peeps, mum, and lana to the movies to watch the best exotic marigold hotel and had dinner out before the movie. if you have not seen this movie .... DO .... it is awesome we all loved it including the peeps who came away loving some of the characters and not tolerating the behaviour of others, it really is a GREAT movie :) but i digress, as we had dinner out last night i decided we would still do a takeaway type meal but have it homemade instead. i have gone with the family favourite of homemade hamburgers and thought i would also try out this recipe for roasted mustard potatoes to go with them instead of making fries as a side dish.
the recipe is from reeni at cinnamon spice and every thing nice and is pinned to my recipe must do's board on pinterest. the recipe sounds divine, it has favourites of mine included as ingredients so i have been waiting for the perfect meal to have these with, and really, do hamburgers and potato dish not have perfect companions written next to them~? not to mention that it's friday, i'm a little tired and this recipe is easy: dice, whisk, bake, and serve = done.
dice |
whisk |
bake |
serve |
outcome: everybody say .... FAVOURITE POTATOES OF ANY STYLE! way better than fries, and every the peeps enjoyed them, not as much as fries and definitely not as much as the adults. it's really hard to give decent feedback that isn't yum, delicious, or any other similar adjective to every pinterest recipe ... i'm almost hoping for an out and out failure just so you know i'm being reasonable with my appraisals of pinterest pinned recipes. honestly, the ones i rave about are with good reason, like this one, all the recipes bar a few i have made over and over again because they have been so successful ... one day i am sure i will make a recipe that requires some form of lack lustre impression but it just wasn't today ... again ;)
my thanks to reeni at cinnamon spice and everything nice for posting this adaption from an epicurious recipe. both websites have an absolute treasure trove of delicious recipes to try and if the one i used today is anything to go by they will all be worth trialing :)
